An Introduction to the Walk for Hope FoundationOne step at a time it is possible to change the world – Lets take those steps together. The Walk for Hope Foundation is a registered Canadian non-profit society which organizes yearly walks to raise money for local charities. Each year a different charity is helped. Walk for Hope 2011Walk for Hope 2011 took place on May 13, 2011 at the beautiful Creekside Community Centre in Vancouver. More than 125 people participated in the 5 km community walk around false creek, walked a total of 600 km, and raised a total of $4,826.75 for the Mood Disorder Association of British Columbia (MDABC)! At the event, Katie Luciani and Tracy Windsor of "The Lowdown" spoke to a packed hall about their personal experiences with mood disorder, and volunteer musician Mark Bottomly entertained the crowd with his live music. We would like to express our sincere thanks for the volunteers, speakers, and all participants. Can we see the photos and video now?
What happens now?We have received tremendous feedback from participants. Until the next event, please spread the word about Walk for Hope. Give your friends and colleagues the link to this website, and let them know about this and future walks. The more people join in the effort, the more we can raise funds for worthy local charities. Remember, one step at a time it is possible to change the world, let's take those steps together! Mission Statement
